Mountain Majesty: Three Days of Wonder

    Welcome to Cape Town, the Mother City of South Africa! You are about to embark on an unforgettable adventure that will take you to the top of one of the world’s most iconic landmarks: Table Mountain.

    Your first day will be spent settling in at your cozy and eco-friendly accommodation, Parker Cottage. This charming guesthouse is located in the historic and vibrant neighborhood of Tamboerskloof, where you can enjoy the views of the mountain and the city from your balcony or garden. You will also have access to free Wi-Fi, organic breakfast, and friendly staff who can assist you with any queries or requests.

    The next three days will be dedicated to exploring Table Mountain, a natural wonder that boasts a rich biodiversity and a stunning panorama. You will be accompanied by your experienced and knowledgeable guide, Dominic Chadbon, who will share with you the secrets and stories of this majestic mountain.

    On the first day, you will hike up the Platteklip Gorge, a moderate trail that follows a ravine to the summit. Along the way, you will see various plants and animals that are endemic to the mountain, such as the protea, the sugarbird, and the dassie. You will also learn about the geology and history of the mountain, and how it has shaped the culture and identity of Cape Town. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the city, the ocean, and the surrounding mountains. You can also visit the cable car station, where you can buy souvenirs, snacks, and drinks.

    On the second day, you will tackle the Nursery Ravine, a more challenging trail that involves some scrambling and climbing. This route will test your fitness and courage, as you will ascend steep slopes, rocky ledges, and metal ladders. But don’t worry, your guide will be there to help you and ensure your safety. You will also have plenty of opportunities to admire the scenery and take photos.

    On the third and final day, you will experience the ultimate thrill: abseiling off the edge of the mountain. You will descend 112 meters down a sheer cliff face, with nothing but a rope and a harness to support you. This is not for the faint-hearted, but it is an exhilarating and unforgettable way to end your adventure. You will feel the adrenaline rush as you hang over the abyss, and the awe as you gaze at the horizon. You will also have a chance to see some of the rare and endangered plants that grow on the cliffs, such as the red disa and the Table Mountain ghost frog.

    After each day’s activity, you will return to your guesthouse, where you can relax and unwind. You can also explore the nearby attractions, such as the colorful Bo-Kaap district, the lively Long Street, and the trendy Kloof Street. You will find plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries to suit your taste and budget.

Nature's Symphony: Safari Bliss Unleashed

  • Your Accommodation

    Today, you will leave Cape Town and fly to Johannesburg, the largest and most populous city in South Africa. From there, you will catch another flight to Hoedspruit Airport, located near the border of the Kruger National Park. You will be met by your driver, who will take you to your accommodation, Rhino Post Safari Lodge.

    Rhino Post is a luxurious and eco-friendly lodge that offers an authentic and intimate safari experience. You will stay in spacious and comfortable suites, equipped with en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers, private decks, and plunge pools. You will also have access to a lounge, a library, a wine cellar, and a swimming pool.

  • Your Travel Time

  • Your Activities

    For the next two and a half days, you will explore the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, which is part of the Greater Kruger Park. This reserve is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo), as well as cheetah, wild dog, giraffe, zebra, antelope, and more. You will also see some of the rare and elusive white lions, which are only found in this area.

    You will have a unique and immersive way of experiencing the bush: on foot. Every morning, you will join your guide and tracker for a walking safari, where you will follow the tracks and signs of the animals, and learn about their behavior, ecology, and conservation. You will also discover the smaller and often overlooked aspects of the bush, such as the plants, insects, birds, and reptiles. You will feel the thrill and excitement of being close to nature, and the respect and awe for the wildlife.

    Every evening, you will hop on a 4x4 vehicle for a game drive, where you will have a chance to see the nocturnal animals, such as hyena, jackal, owl, and leopard. You will also stop at a scenic spot for a sundowner, a drink, and a snack while watching the sunset. You will then return to the lodge, where you can relax by the fire, share your stories, and gaze at the stars.

    Today, you will fly back to Johannesburg and then catch another flight to Victoria Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world. You will be staying at Bayete Guest Lodge, a family-run and eco-friendly lodge that offers a tranquil and comfortable retreat. You will enjoy spacious and cozy rooms, equipped with en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, and Wi-Fi. You will also have access to a swimming pool, a bar, a restaurant, and a spa.

    For the next three days, you will experience the beauty and adventure of Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River. You will be amazed by the sight and sound of the falls, which are also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya, or “The Smoke that Thunders”. You will also explore the diverse and lush rainforest that surrounds the falls, where you will see various plants and animals, such as orchids, ferns, monkeys, and birds.

    On the first day, you will take a guided tour of the falls, where you will learn about the history, geology, and legends of this spectacular place. You will walk along the edge of the falls and feel the spray of the water on your face. You will also visit the viewpoints, such as the Devil’s Cataract, the Main Falls, the Rainbow Falls, and the Danger Point. You will have a chance to see the famous Victoria Falls Bridge, which connects Zimbabwe and Zambia, and where you can also do bungee jumping if you dare.

    On the second day, you will hike in the Zambezi National Park, located upstream of the falls. This park is home to a variety of wildlife, such as elephants, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, and more. You will also encounter some predators, including lions, leopards, hyenas, and crocodiles. Accompanied by your guide and ranger, you will gain insights into the bush's wonders. A picnic lunch in the shade of a tree will offer a peaceful break surrounded by nature's sounds and scenery.

    On the third and final day, you will zipline across the falls, experiencing the thrill and excitement of flying over the gorge. Strapped to a harness and a cable, you will glide over the rapids and rainbows, feeling the wind in your hair and the adrenaline in your veins. The stunning view of the falls and the river from above will be a memorable experience.

    On Day 10, you will say goodbye to Victoria Falls and fly back to Johannesburg, where you will catch your flight home. You will have some time to reflect on your amazing adventure and to share your photos and stories with your friends and family. You will also have some souvenirs and memories that will last a lifetime.

Ethos

Our logo is an image of a skull found in the Rising Star Cave System in Gauteng, South Africa in 2013. It was named ‘homo naledi’, meaning ‘human of the stars’.

The cave system has so far given rise to the remains of over 15 individuals, making it the largest hominid fossil remains site ever discovered.

Travelling to Southern Africa is truly a return to the source of humankind, to Where It All Began.
